This evening, the New York Jets will be taking part in their annual “Green & White Practice Scrimmage,” beginning at 7:15pm EST.
The team will be practicing in a new location this year, at High Point Solutions Stadium at Rutgers University in Piscataway Township, NJ. The event includes a fan fest and post-practice fireworks. It is the first opportunity of the offseason for the team to practice in front of a large crowd.
On Thursday, Head Coach Todd Bowles spoke on the nature of the practice.
“We’ll probably have more team periods, more of a scrimmage-like atmosphere, as far as moving the ball as opposed to just different periods. We’ll move the ball at certain times. We may start at the minus-35, but we’ll have a fringe period, maybe a red-zone period, start at mid-field, just different parts of the field for us to get different practice at certain things.”
For the first time, the Jets will be streaming the practice on their official site.
Update: As of 8pm EST, the stream seems to have been taken down off the Jets website. It appears the practice itself would only be featured slightly, along with a “Jets 360” show. This is understandable, as the Jets begin team activities and may not want to broadcast plays, etc to the rest of the league.
